A bit about me
I have two children and appreciate the opportunity to work part time so I can also spend a lot of time with them. I work flexibly around school so I can get the job done when you need me to.
In March 2016, I was elected as chair of the parent– teacher association for my children's primary school. One of my priorities is clear communication, as I believe this is key to informing and motivating people. In turn, that means more fundraising! I am lucky enough to have a professional designer on our team of volunteers who transforms my words into something eye-catching and beautiful. We have a big project on the go to pay for some new playground equipment. I am once again delighted to put my professional skills to use as we embark on writing bids and grant applications to top up our funding.
I help out at school when work and other commitments allow. I enjoy the direct work with children, helping them learn and grow, rather than just reading or writing about them! I also volunteer for the local branch of a parenting charity. I write regular articles and proofread their quarterly e-newsletter. My experience as a parent and with other children gives a perfect balance to the work I do.
And in my spare time!
When I am not buried in my laptop or doing 'mum things', I enjoy running, exercise and reading.
